Bloxham Mill was established over 20 years ago as a serviced office centre. Becoming increasingly dated and tired, once the pandemic hit, the clients at Bloxham Mill saw this as an opportunity to rethink the working environment and update the offices to revitalise them and bring them up to date.

DuCroz architects were recommended to the owner of Bloxham Mill, Michael. They were given full creative freedom to create a post-COVID work environment to refurbish the offices. A key requirement of the project was to reconfigure the building from 66 individual offices into an open plan space with different booths and zones.

DuCroz proposed a plan focusing on a sense of calm and using natural materials to improve productivity as well as wellness.

Upon entering the space the timber slotted screen gives a presence to arrival and has become a highly photographed feature of the space. Made from solid oak.

The Amoeba table is the hub of the space and a beautiful feature upon entry. Due to the form and flowing shape of the table it gives a sense of privacy whilst you are sitting with other people. Made from Oak and Walnut with metal legs.

Perhaps the most successful feature of the space are the private pods. Featuring timber frames crafted from solid oak, glass panels allowing for visual connections and acoustic panels to control noise levels. The pods are consistently fully booked and the clients have since ordered 10 more to continuously develop the space for users.

The kitchen in Bloxham Mill features a flat panel door with a J Groove handle.

With over 250 people working in Bloxham Mill, the space was required to be hard wearing for the traffic it receives. Emma, the commercial director at Bloxham Mill, said that although Bloxham Mill is now over 4 years old 'The finish is amazing with no marks, everybody always comments on the quality.. there is nothing we would change about the space'.
