The Oxford Project

Sat just outside of Oxford in a serene woodland setting, this newly built home provided a blank canvas for its interiors. Working with interior designer, Hilary White, the clients inspiration for the interiors was to echo the contemporary architectural design of the property and bring the outside in. Drawn to clean, simple designs, the client wanted to create a warm and inviting home without it feeling too cluttered.

A harmonious colour palette of neutrals, greens and blues was chosen, reinforcing a connection to the outdoors. Practicality was a priority, the materials used needed to be durable and resistant to everyday wear. When it came to the joinery, a thoughtful approach was taken to balance the aesthetics and budget. A mixture of fully bespoke pieces and doors on Ikea carcassing were used to achieve a high end look at a sensible cost. The joinery played a key role in adding warmth, personality and character in particular showcasing the clients extensive book collection.

Working on the wardrobes, bookshelves, desk and bath panels, all choices were simple and understated. Flat doors with J Groove handles were chosen for their sleek, contemporary look, aligning to the homes quiet and modern ethos.

The result is a beautifully crafted home, creating a space that feels sophisticated and inviting.
